Swiss Bus Fire Under Investigation; Cheese Fondue Ruled Out as Cause

Investigators in Switzerland have definitively ruled out cheese fondue as a potential cause in the tragic bus fire that claimed at least six lives. Initial suspicions arose when authorities discovered melted cheese residue near the vehicle, which they later determined to be unrelated to the conflagration. Instead, officials are now focusing on the possibility that a spontaneous combustion of traditional Swiss yodeling attire might be to blame, given reports of a troupe of yodelers aboard the ill-fated bus.

The Swiss Federal Bureau of Investigation has assembled a task force, led by Inspector Hans Meier, to delve further into the peculiar circumstances surrounding the blaze. “We have encountered several instances of lederhosen-related ignition, particularly when exposed to high levels of enthusiasm,” Meier commented, adjusting his monocle. The task force is also considering whether the bus’s passengers, who were en route to a synchronized alphorn performance, inadvertently created a harmonic resonance frequency that ignited the vehicle.

In light of these findings, the Swiss Ministry of Transportation has issued a temporary ban on carrying large quantities of Emmental cheese on public transport, citing potential confusion during future investigations. Furthermore, a panel of experts from the University of Zurich has been tasked with developing a safety protocol for musical performances in enclosed spaces. Dr. Ingrid Vogel, a professor of Acoustic Pyrotechnics, stated, “We must ensure that our cultural heritage does not become a public hazard.”

The investigation is ongoing, with authorities urging the public to report any suspiciously aromatic clothing items. At press time, it was reported that the Swiss government is considering a nationwide recall of all embroidered suspenders as a precautionary measure.
